Celebrating Stella Maris for Sea Sunday

Join Radio Maria England in celebrating Stella Maris and Sea Sunday!  Radio Maria England has really been blessed with our partnership with Stella Maris – through sharing their Stations of the Cross and Julian Wong’s weekly presentation of  Prayers for the Seafarers on Thursdays at 1:30pm and Fridays at 12:30am.  We really enjoyed having them on Padre’s Hour last year as well.

This year, we have the privilege of having Ann Donnelly, Stella Maris Regional Port Chaplain for Plymouth & Teignmouth, on the Morning show on Thursday, 8 July at 9am.

We will also have Martin Foley, CEO of Stella Maris as a guest on Feasts and Seasons on Friday, 9 July, at 2:30pm.

We will also be broadcasting the Sea Sunday Portsmouth Cathedral, celebrated by Bishop Paul Mason, on Sunday, 11 July, at 12:00pm.

We will be praying the following Prayer for the Prayer For Today on July 10th and 11th. Here are the words, if you would like to pray with us:

Stella Maris Prayer

Mary, Star of the Sea, light of every ocean,
guide seafarers across all dark and stormy seas
that they may reach the haven of peace and light
prepared in Him who calmed the sea.
As we set forth upon the oceans of the world
and cross the deserts of our time, show us, O Mary,
the fruit of your womb, for without your Son we are lost.
Pray that we will never fail on life’s journey,
that in heart and mind, work and deed,
in days of turmoil and in days of calm,
we will always look to Christ and say,
“Who is this that even wind and sea obey him?”
Our Lady of Peace, pray for us!
Bright Star of the Sea, guide us!
Our Lady, Star of the Sea, pray for seafarers, pray for us.
