Culture Tuesday – Ruben Ferreira Fine Art & Sacred Art
Written by Radio Maria England on 27/03/2023
Join us on Culture Tuesday on March 28th at 9am to learn more about Fine Art and Sacred Art with Ruben Ferreira.
Ruben Ferreira lives and paints in London, and sees himself as a modern missionary, spreading the gospel through his art, talks and Social Media. His studio is his “convent cell” where each painting becomes part of his prayers and communion with the Saints, Mother Mary and God. For him, painting is a relationship.
Ruben is a self-thought artist. When he moved to London, he enrolled in several masterclasses at the Art Academy of London, developing his technique and knowledge.
Ruben is a renowned artist with paintings worldwide and a captivating inspirational speaker. He has collaborated with the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace and several Causes of Canonization, promoting the lives of Saints through Art.
His works show a unique originality for bringing humanity, diversity, joy and proximity to Sacred Art. The figures are contemporary and at the same time appropriate to the biblical or sacred context and help the viewer enter the scenes imaginatively. Ruben deeply believes that his mission as an artist is to make Sacred Art a place of dialogue and encounter for all.
Since 2018 he has presented workshops and inspirational talks on Art, Creativity and Faith, and more recently about Saints and their role in our spirituality, in local hospitals, parishes, schools and students’ houses, TV shows and radio. He speaks on how Art can change hearts and mentalities, teaching us the value and uniqueness of human life and the goodness and Beauty of God. In 2021 Ruben was invited by Yale University to present a webinar about his faith, art, good humour and humanity in his works. For his contribution to culture and faith, Ruben was invited for a live interview on a Portuguese TV show.
