Easter Triduum

Participate in the Easter Triduum on Radio Maria – the holy days of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday, celebrating the Passion, death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This year we join the Dominicans of Blackfriars in Oxford for Tenebrae: Matins and Lauds, the first two hours of the Divine Office, celebrated on the last three days of Holy Week, and for the Passion of Jesus on Good Friday. Maundy Thursday is the day when the Church commemorates both the institution of the Mass and of the Priesthood. We join the Vatican for the annual Chrism Mass in which the Pope blesses the Oils (chrisms) that will be used in the various sacraments throughout the year and in the evening, go to the Church of the Holy Rood in Oxford for the celebration of the Lord’s Supper, which traditionally includes the Washing of the Feet. On Good Friday we will be back in Rome in the evening for the Way of the Cross. On Holy Saturday we will celebrate the Easter Vigil both with the Vatican and then with Blackfriars in Cambridge. We’ll stay with the Dominicans in Cambridge for Lauds and Mass on Easter Sunday and then be in London at St Dominic’s, the Rosary Shrine, for Mass celebrated by Fr Toby.

Fr Toby will also be talking about What Jesus Saw from the Cross at midday on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday.

Do join us for this holy time so that we can enter into Eastertide together with you!
