Kristina Cooper Presenter of Women Together
Written by Radio Maria England on 03/11/2020
Kristina Cooper is a presenter for “Women Together” providing short brief encounters with God. She is Roman Catholic and single, lives in South London. As an 11-year-old she wrote and produced plays and generally bossed her friends around, but realising she would never be a great actress, turned to writing. In her 20s she worked for Over 21 as the PA to the editor before becoming a reporter at the Universe.
She wanted to be a foreign correspondent, but while working as a volunteer in Panama in her 20s she had a profound encounter with Christ through the Charismatic Renewal which changed the arc of her life. Through this she realised how the gospel can bring about both social and personal change and was the answer to society’s ills. Since then, she has dedicated her life to promoting the gospel message in whatever way she can. She worked full time for the CCR for 35 years (1985-2020) editing the Goodnews magazine, as well as giving spiritual talks and writing on Spirituality for other Catholic publications. She is currently working on a children’s book called “The little Witch Who wanted to be Good”, which she hopes, in an amusing way, will encourage children to follow Christian values and be helpful to others.
