Songs in the Wilderness – Phil Rynhart
On Wednesday 22 September at 11am, Phil Rynhart joined Radio Maria with sharing his faith journey, the music that influenced him along the way and introduced Radio Maria to his new song for St. Joseph – The Silent Truth. The programme will be rebroadcast on Thursday (23 September) at 9pm, Friday (24 September) at 2am and Saturday (25 September) at 8pm.
If there’s one word that characterizes Phil perfectly, it’s passion. Indeed, when he was a young child, the Dubliner already felt strong emotions while playing music. And his talent was soon noticed, as his first TV appearance happened when he was 10 years old. Shortly after that, he toured the Stella Cinemas as the opening act for Ken Dodd, singing folk songs. It seemed to be obvious: music would be his future.
After working in many rock bands and also dance club bands in London, he continued his musical career as a producer and arranger, working with other artists in his own studio in west London. He continues today to write songs and occasionally can be seen gigging around the UK at festivals, also in church on Sundays at St Nicholas Perivale.
After 3 seperate friends contunially suggested that Phil read the bible, seek the Holy Spirit and spedn time with the Lord, Phil felt his faith reawekened. He decided to use his talent to make the world a more peaceful and God-filled place. He likes to compose worship/praise songs to inspire his brothers and sisters. It’s a real success, insofar as The Kingdom Choir, which performed at the wedding of Prince Harry and Megan Markle, also performed Phil’s co-written “Lords Prayer” as the opening song at all venues on both their UK and USA Tours. Firstly performed at the 100 year Armistice concert to the heads of state and the Royal family.
