Volunteer Spotlight – March 2022
Why is your Faith important to you?
My Faith is very important for me because without faith I am nothing. I have put my trust and offer my life to God because He is the only One who can guide, help, support and protect me, my family and friends, relatives and all those people I care and love.
Was there a period in your life when Faith became particularly important?
I grew up in a family who is religious, and I studied in a private school run by the Daughters of Charity.
It wasn’t until after my father died that faith becomes important to me. Without my father we encountered a lot of hardship and difficulties. At a young age I feel helpless as I can’t do anything to help my mother. I have 7 other siblings and though I’m not the eldest I feel responsible for them. During those times when my family is struggling, I turned to our Lord God for help, guidance, strength and protection. I entrust all my cares to Him. This was the period when my faith became important to me and as I grew up I have my faith as my shield and my armour!
What is your local Church and are you active in any of its groups?
My local church here in Cambridge is St Philip Howard Church. I have been active and serving in the church as a member of parish choir, a cantor, reader, eucharistic minister and a catechist for children for holy communion. My service is my way of giving thanks to our Lord God for all the blessings received!
What do you most enjoy about Church?
The Church brings peace and joy in me. I have inner peace when I am in the church, and I feel at home with God. The Church also brings the sense of family and belongingness as a family of God.
Why are you involved with Radio Maria?
I am involved as a volunteer with Radio Maria because I want to serve and support Radio Maria in a small way that I can. I first heard about Radio Maria from Dominic Oyeniran who is my friend in our parish church. He invited me to attend their meeting and learn more about Radio Maria. I hope more people will support RME as its helping and reaching out a lot of people in need of God’s word and guidance. Of course, I will encourage people to listen to RM so that they will be inspired, grow in love and faith to God.
We invite you to join our volunteers. Email us at Volunteers@RadioMariaEngland.uk to find out more.
